The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) is the leading national association dedicated to making quality and equity the foundations for excellence in undergraduate education. With this grant, AAC&U will conduct research that advances knowledge about the role of OER in influencing key student success metrics beyond cost savings and affordability. AAC&U will examine the challenges institutions have encountered through their engagement in OER work, including perceived gaps in the literature, and they will synthesize existing research on the impact of OER and open learning pedagogical practices on student success outcomes. With this grant, AAC&U will collaborate with ISKME to assess how and to what extent institutions participating in AAC&U’s inaugural Institute on Open Educational Resources connect their work to campus-level diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
