Overview
The Aspen Management Partnership for Health (AMP Health) aims to improve management and leadership capacity of teams in multiple health ministries across Africa, including Hewlett priority geographies (e.g., Ghana and Kenya). AMP recently founded and launched Aspen Institute Global-South Africa (AIGSA) as a nonprofit organization locally incorporated in South Africa, in order to move AMP project and back office support closer to its clients — African ministries of health. This grant will enable AIGSA to strengthen its human resources and organizational structure so that the AMP partnership can provide better support to build the leadership and management capacities in African governments. Building a culture of performance management in ministries of health should lead to greater government effectiveness (including reproductive health service delivery) and government responsiveness to its residents. (Strategy: Gender Equity and Governance)
