Africans Rising

As a pan-African network, Africans Rising supports African grassroots movements in crisis to strategize, mobilize, and influence decision-makers to advance positive change. This flexible support grant enables Africans Rising to strengthen its En-gendering African Social Movements Program by mainstreaming women’s rights and African feminism within broader social justice activism. This organizational effectiveness grant will support Africans Rising to sustain institutional stability in light of its upcoming movement leadership transition. Specifically, the funding will allow Africans Rising to invest in a participatory context analysis to inform its talent acquisition process and succession planning. Additionally, the outgoing Movement Coordinators and Coordinating Collective will receive leadership coaching. Combined, these institutional strengthening efforts will contribute to Africans Rising's sustainability in the near term. (Strategy: Global Reproductive Equity)

Through its multipronged approach — convene, connect, collaborate, and amplify — Africans Rising enhances members' collective power to strategize, mobilize, and influence duty bearers to advance positive change. This flexible support grant enables Africans Rising to strengthen its Engendering African Social Movements program by directly supporting African feminist networks and centering women's rights and African feminism within broader social justice activism.
