Grants to this Grantee
for enhancing social protection for informal women workers in Francophone West Africa
Actions pour lEnvironnement et le Dveloppement Durable (ACED) is a think-and-do tank driving equitable development across Africa. ACED employs an integrated approach that combines research, policy engagement, and on-the-ground action. ACED focuses on four thematic areas: food systems, nature economy, digital economy, and human development. This grant project aims to improve social protection for informal women workers in Francophone West Africa, through macro-level policy solutions. Implementation for this grant hinges on two interconnected components: designing the implementation of locally relevant macro-level policy solutions, and increasing the technical capacity of policymakers and relevant stakeholders to design and implement these solutions. By working directly with ministries and various stakeholders in the social protection and informal economy sectors, this grant aims to improve the policy environment, thereby offering greater economic stability and equity for informal women workers in Francophone Africa. Actions pour lEnvironnement et le Dveloppement Durable (ACED) is a West African policy research organization headquartered in Benin that connects evidence to policy and local action in the food security and nutrition sector, with the ultimate aim of improving the livelihoods of vulnerable populations. ACEDs current strategy is to enhance production and access to policy-relevant evidence; increase the capacities of stakeholders in demanding, accessing, and brokering evidence; and improve evidence use by policymakers and practitioners.
