The mission of the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles at the University of California, Los Angeles is to create research in social science and law surrounding critical issues of civil rights and equal opportunity for racial groups in the United States. The project has played an important role in Supreme Court cases, stimulated community participation, been widely cited in the media and scholarly publications, and helped education leaders, legislators, and professionals pursuing equity. With this grant money, the project will transition leadership and intellectual capital to a new generation of scholars and leaders who will lead future efforts.
