Overview
The UCLA Center for the Transformation of Schools serves as a thought partner for school districts, county offices of education, and state departments of education to pursue whole-child, whole-community approaches to school system improvement and education justice. The center’s research is designed to help educational leaders implement strategies that foster positive, healthy learning environments and treat youth development and wellness as integral to the mission of preparing and inspiring future generations. This grant will support research on the diversity of the educator workforce.

for support on the implementation and research of Design-Based Learning  
UCLA’s Center X, housed in the School of Education & Information Studies, is a community of over 100 educators and researchers working to transform public schooling to create a more just, equitable, and humane society. Design-Based Learning is a project in Center X’s teaching methodology that promotes a critical and creative approach to problem solving and teamwork through the creation of model cities. This grant will support its implementation and evaluation.

for developing data and evidence for women’s economic empowerment  
The WORLD Policy Analysis Center at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Fielding School of Public Health provides access to global research, data, and maps for sharing ideas and resources on social policies. It uses data to identify effective policies and laws, publish original research, and offer evidence-based policy recommendations. It also works with organizations to translate its global policy data into community and country-level improvements. This grant will support the development of data and evidence for women’s economic empowerment. (Strategy: International Women’s Economic Empowerment)
