Abhinaya Dance Company transmits the practice of classical South Indian dance across the generations, and builds community among immigrant Indian American residents with its intensive year-round training program for more than 100 students ages six to eighteen, as well as a career development program for emerging dance teachers and choreographers. Its professional dance company reaches 10,000 people through its concert season and performances at regional venues, community sites, and local schools. A renewal grant to Abhinaya would help to strengthen the company’s sustainability through focused fundraising and audience development efforts.
