Overview
For more than 80 years, Carmel Bach Festival has presented a series of summer concerts, recitals, master classes, lectures, and open rehearsals. The repertory features music from the Baroque period, and the work of composers influenced by Bach’s work. The organization’s community engagement and education programs expand the festival’s reach year-round through youth-centered family concerts, free community concerts, and K-12 residencies and music education. The community engagement and education programs are offered in Carmel and Monterey, and in nearby underserved cities including Salinas, Soledad, and Seaside.

The West's oldest music festival, Carmel Bach Festival celebrates the Baroque period and the works of J.S. Bach, entertaining 22,000 audience members through concerts, recitals, lectures, films, open rehearsals, and vocal training sessions. The Discovery Series, a free educational outreach feature of the Festival, attracts families to its concerts at local community centers and senior facilities, and its Youth Chorus and Young Musicians Showcase develop the talents of the aspiring young musicians who attend.
