Overview
The Rebus Community, the open education and professional development arm of the Rebus Foundation, supports institutions’ OER efforts through a year-long, cohort-based program called the Textbook Success Program, as well as other OER-focused professional development. Rebus will partner with two U.S. Department of Education-funded projects to support their OER creation efforts via the Textbook Success Program. Working with the Louisiana Library Network and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, they will support the development of 25 OER projects in each state, as well as build out modules related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and OER Efficacy. Findings will be shared via new curriculum, guides, and a project evaluation. (Substrategy: Content, Tools, and Services)

The Rebus Foundation is a Canadian nonprofit whose mission is to develop technologies and communities to promote publication of openly licensed web books and OER. This grant supports the development of the underlying infrastructure for a global, collaborative approach to publishing OER, focusing on specific partnerships to promote equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Key outcomes include designing a robust publishing platform; facilitating an open, inclusive approach to creating OER; implementing an effective infrastructure for open textbook projects at scale; and generating a sustainable model.
