Billy Hewlett

Board member since 2016 and grandson of William and Flora Hewlett. Mountain View, Calif.

Billy Hewlett leads the AI Research team at Palo Alto Networks, an internet security company. His team builds machine learning models that stop malware and other malicious cyber activities.

Previously, he worked for five years programming artificial intelligence for video games at companies such as Blizzard and Electronic Arts, where he published several games.

Billy has a B.S. in symbolic systems and a M.S. in computer science from Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from UCLA, where he focused on artificial intelligence. Billy is also on the family council of the Flora Family Foundation, and his philanthropy focuses on education in Africa. He enjoys coaching his kids’ soccer teams.
