Overview
Young Musicians Choral Orchestra (YMCO) is a nationally recognized orchestral, jazz and choral music training program for low-income youth of color. Paired with academic coaching, students from the program matriculate into and excel at the premiere conservatories and universities in the United States. YMCO has taken a bold path during the past two years, becoming a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization independent from UC Berkeley, where the program was incubated. Renewed support for YMCO would provide the opportunity for the organization to maintain its programming and to engage in strategic and financial planning.
