Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
World Arts West is dedicated to sustaining culturally specific, traditional, and folk dance communities of Northern California. Acting as both a presenter and a service organization, it produces the annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. A recently completed strategic plan expanded the 2011 festival, a month-long celebration of traditional world dance forms, from thirty-seven performances to fifty and added more participatory activities. In addition, the organization offers technical assistance to the folk and traditional dance community.
for general operating support
World Arts West is dedicated to sustaining and nurturing the culturally specific, traditional, and folk dance communities of Northern California. Acting as both a presenter and service organization, World Arts West produces the annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival and its open audition process. The organization offers additional technical assistance services to the folk and traditional dance community. Within the ethnic dance field, World Arts West has deep knowledge of this community and is well positioned to help move the field forward. Renewed support would help strengthen both the organization and the field, and expand the festival’s reach.
