Overview
The Western Conservation Foundation will begin a public education campaign designed to counter the oil and gas industry's assertion that drilling on Western public lands is the panacea for high gasoline prices. This grant will support the Foundation's efforts. The campaign will gather information on the extent of current drilling activity, research existing polling information, provide timely information to the media and reach out to a broad array of diverse constituencies encouraging them to voice their concerns about the impacts of fossil energy development of Western public lands.
