Overview
Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success (DOERS3), fiscally sponsored by the University of Maryland Global Campus Foundation, is a collaborative of 28 higher education organizations that lead large-scale, statewide/provincewide OER initiatives and are committed to supporting student success by promoting open education. Representing over 6.6 million students at more than 735 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada, DOERS3 leverages the collective strength of the collaborative to scale and shape OER innovation to improve access, affordability, and achievement for higher education students. With this grant, DOERS3 will inform and support implementation of equitable practices with OER; advance the institutionalization of open education in tenure and promotion; and coordinate the development of a research agenda to examine the efficacy of OER initiatives. Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success (DOERS), a collaborative supported by the University of Maryland Foundation, facilitates collaboration and idea exchange among higher education systemwide, statewide, province-wide, and consortial open education programs. DOERS is now a mature network, consisting of 37 member organizations and 10 affiliate organizations, with their work affecting 7.84 million enrolled students at 876 colleges and universities. Together, they leverage the collective strength of the collaborative to scale and shape OER innovation to improve access, affordability, and achievement for higher education students. Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success is a collaborative of higher education organizations supporting large-scale state- and province-wide OER initiatives. The collaborative positions member organizations to realize the promise of high-quality, accessible, and sustainable OER implementation. This grant will support a convening during which OER leaders representing member organizations will work together to shape innovation in OER research, policy, accessibility, and quality.
