Overview
The University of California Humanities Research Institute supports interdisciplinary, collaborative research by UC faculty and graduate students on key contemporary and historical issues across the humanities and interpretive social sciences. Research topics include environmental challenges, understanding both the historical and contemporary conditions and expressions of racial, ethnic, and gendered cultures; the impacts and implications of technology for society; the social constitution of data; algorithmic bias; changing conceptions of the human; and the role of religion in society; and the changes over time. This grant will provide flexible funding to the University of California Humanities Research Institute.
