Overview
The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) encompasses an internationally renowned center for the preservation, study, and presentation of cinema. With two state-of-the-art cinemas and an outdoor screen at BAMPFA’s new building, the Pacific Film Archive provides more than 450 film programs for 58,000 visitors annually. Its programs provide opportunities for audiences to engage with more than 150 filmmakers and scholars each year and showcases works on film and digital formats drawn from international film archives, including its own collection of 17,500 historically significant films and videos.

The mission of the Berkeley School of Education at UC Berkeley is to advance excellence and equity at all levels of public education. The school encompasses diverse students and faculty who are committed to equity and excellence in education as researchers, professional educators, leaders, and innovators. Students and faculty seek to address crucial and complex problems in education that hinder students’ ability to thrive. This grant will support the implementation of an online professional certification program and master’s program that will address shortages in the primary and secondary teaching workforce as well as build leadership pathways for educators.
