Grants to this Grantee
for support to the Evidence in Governance and Politics network
This grant will support the consolidation and continued growth of the Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) network to achieve four high level outcomes: (a) continue management of a coordinated research model (Metaketa Initiative), including results dissemination and outreach events; (b) make research more accessible to practitioners by seeking out and expanding academic-practitioner partnerships; (c) increase the capacity of developing country researchers through experimental methods workshops in the Global South; and (d) improve experimental methods by communicating research findings to policymakers by the creation of methods guides, policy briefs and others.
for support of Cal Performances
Cal Performances is the largest performing arts presenter on the West Coast, and is considered one of the finest university presenters in the country. Its annual season of 100 performances of world music and dance, theater, opera, jazz, and classical music, in the 2,000-seat Zellerbach Hall, attracts an audience of 130,000. Cal Performances’ education and community outreach programs have deepened to focus on building artistic literacy. Cal Performances is transitioning from "presenter" to "producer" of artistic content, and has expanded access to its programs through partnerships with the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, and its own management of the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. With renewed support, Cal Performances will continue to be an iconic cultural institution, bringing high-quality performing arts to new audiences in the Bay Area.
