Overview
The U.N. Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for the U.S. Climate Alliance, a bipartisan group of states committed to adopting policies to advance the U.S. Paris climate commitments. This supplemental grant will help states assemble collective greenhouse gas inventories and projections to track progress against baselines.

for the U.S. Climate Alliance
The U.S. Climate Alliance is uniquely suited to help states deliver on historic opportunities for bold climate action and maximize the potential of the Inflation Reduction Act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This grant will support states as they harness new federal resources, creating in-house secretariat capacity to provide technical, policy, and communications assistance to states, at scale, and deliver critical flexible funding. The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of governors representing 24 states, with more than 60% of U.S. GDP, 55% of the U.S. population, and 40% of U.S. emissions. These governors are committed to driving the nation’s ambitious climate agenda by working in partnership with each other, the federal government, and the international community. The alliance has an important role to play in implementation of federal climate investment laws by supporting state engagement with federal agencies, supporting the development of state decarbonization plans, and supporting effective deployment of federal dollars to drive decarbonization and community economic development.
