United Nations Foundation

For Promoting Effective And Evidenced-based Policies To Deliver On The Sustainable Development Goals

Overview
This project will provide support for the United Nations Foundation to increase the likelihood that governments and key decision makers adopt effective and evidenced-based policies to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations Foundation policy team will work to deepen, expand, and sustain political support for SDG implementation among key member states, especially African countries. The team, in collaboration with policy actors and think tanks from the Global South, will promote the use of evidence, data, and analysis to inform global and national decision making. The team also plans to promote credible, effective, and inclusive SDG monitoring and accountability at the country and global level.

for the U.S. Climate Alliance
The U.S. Climate Alliance is uniquely suited to help states deliver on historic opportunities for bold climate action and maximize the potential of the Inflation Reduction Act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This grant will support states as they harness new federal resources, creating in-house secretariat capacity to provide technical, policy, and communications assistance to states, at scale, and deliver critical flexible funding. for the U.S. Climate Alliance
The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of governors representing 24 states, with more than 60% of U.S. GDP, 55% of the U.S. population, and 40% of U.S. emissions. These governors are committed to driving the nation’s ambitious climate agenda by working in partnership with each other, the federal government, and the international community. The alliance has an important role to play in implementation of federal climate investment laws by supporting state engagement with federal agencies, supporting the development of state decarbonization plans, and supporting effective deployment of federal dollars to drive decarbonization and community economic development.
