United Nations Foundation

For Continuation Of Data2X, Including Big Data Pilots

This project would continue the efforts of Data2X, based at the United Nations Foundation. Data2X was created to define and promote high-priority improvements in the gender-related content of large, multicountry data collection efforts, including those sponsored by multilateral and bilateral organizations. The first phase of this work yielded an inventory of key data gaps that constrain sound economic and social policymaking, and identified potential partnerships with the World Bank, the International Labour Organisation, the U.S. Agency for International Development, UN Women, and other leading organizations. In this phase, the Foundation would (1) pursue those partnerships, linking technical expertise on gender-sensitive data collection with major data collection efforts; and (2) explore, in specific cases, the potential for the analysis of big data to answer questions about the conditions of women’s lives.

for the U.S. Climate Alliance
The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of governors representing 24 states, with more than 60% of U.S. GDP, 55% of the U.S. population, and 40% of U.S. emissions. These governors are committed to driving the nation’s ambitious climate agenda by working in partnership with each other, the federal government, and the international community. The alliance has an important role to play in implementation of federal climate investment laws by supporting state engagement with federal agencies, supporting the development of state decarbonization plans, and supporting effective deployment of federal dollars to drive decarbonization and community economic development.
