Grants to this Grantee
for support of the African Social Movements Baraza 2024
TrustAfrica is a pan-African foundation that supports diverse civil society organizations to advance systemic change in the areas of equitable development, democracy and governance, and African philanthropy. It was established in 2006 as a vehicle to mobilize resources required to support African agency in setting priorities and championing responses to the most pressing issues facing the continent. This grant will allow TrustAfrica to organize its third African Social Movements Baraza, a biannual, enlightening gathering of like-minded progressive social movement actors from several African countries. for Pan-African and Feminist Philanthropies Initiative
TrustAfrica is a pan-African philanthropic organization that seeks to strengthen initiatives that address the most difficult challenges confronting the continent and is focused on Democratic Governance, Equitable Development, and African Philanthropy. In partnership with Urgent Action Fund Africa, TrustAfrica will use this grant to facilitate the building of an ecosystem of pan-African and feminist philanthropies grounded in the principles of mutuality, self-determination, solidarity, and African agency. This grant will allow the partners to co-create and support shared infrastructure and mechanisms that serve, connect, and strengthen underrepresented constituencies and movements — by moving money and other resources — in their goal of advancing justice.
