Overview
This grant will support a major initiative by the Trilateral Commission to reexamine capitalism. Drawing on the international network of the Commission, the initiative will propose modifications or alternatives to capitalism in the post-pandemic world. This effort will bring together the many voices across continents expressing discontent with the current capitalist or neoliberal paradigm to answer fundamental questions regarding what sort of social contract between the state and the citizen makes sense in today’s world, and how governments, markets, and communities can and should work together to generate prosperity and support more inclusive and equitable societies.
