Grants to this Grantee
for mobility improvements in the San Francisco Bay Area
TransFormCA is a long-standing partner and grantee of the Hewlett Foundation. The organization works to promote walkable communities with excellent transportation choices to connect people of all incomes to opportunity, keep California affordable and help solve climate change. This grant will support the implementation of an innovative incentive program for improving mobility in the San Francisco Bay Area’s main highways, with the support of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.
for the ClimatePlan Program
ClimatePlan is a coalition of diverse organizations in California, hosted by TransForm, that works to make the state’s land use and transportation networks more climate-friendly, healthy, and equitable. This grant will support ClimatePlan’s goal of achieving stronger carbon reduction targets by the Air Resources Board during the next round of Sustainable Community Strategies, in mid-2017, in five metropolitan regions: the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, San Joaquin Valley, Los Angeles, and San Diego. These targets should be consistent with the long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets adopted by the state last year, 40 percent by 2030. ClimatePlan’s strategies involve strong participation from all local and regional statewide groups.
