TransFormCA promotes walkable communities with excellent transportation choices to connect people of all incomes to opportunity, keep California affordable, and help solve our climate crisis. TransForm works to knit together action at the local, regional, and state levels, creating demonstration projects, engaging communities in planning, and helping to shape policy. With this proposed unrestricted grant, TransFormCA will continue to work on their Bay Area programs, to enable more kids to walk to school safely, and support funding for affordable new public transit. One of the new areas of work is to engage with new tech-enabled transportation innovations, to focus on climate and equity and strengthen its educational programs and outreach.

for general operating support
TransFormCA works to create world-class public transportation and walkable communities in the Bay Area. With this renewed general support, TransFormCA would continue to work in its three main programs: Safe Routes to School: for children walking and biking to school; Bus Rapic Transit, effective public transportation specially for low income communities, and GreenTrip, a program to design better homes for people of all incomes near transit. Ultimately, TransFormCA’s programs would ensure the reduction of vehicle emissions contributing to climate change and air pollution in the Bay Area.
