Overview
The Philanthropic Collaborative for Education convenes and connects influential leaders in education and philanthropy. In 2009, it launched the Education Funder Strategy Group as a learning community for leading foundations focused on education policy, from early childhood to college and career readiness and success. The group’s mission is to help maximize philanthropy’s effectiveness in systemically improving public education for all students as the foundation for a healthy democracy and vibrant communities. The Philanthropic Collaborative for Education convenes and connects influential leaders in education and philanthropy. This grant will support a learning network of funders engaged in California. This network will discuss funding strategies and coordinate efforts across the network. (Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)

The Philanthropic Collaborative for Education is a national hub for convening and connecting leaders in education philanthropy, advocacy, research, policy, and practice. A signature initiative of the collaborative is the Education Funder Strategy Group, created to provide foundation leaders with a learning community to exchange ideas on the intersections of philanthropy, research, and policy. The collaborative also organizes Grantmakers for Thriving Youth, the Data Funders Collaborative, and Funders in Flux. These collaborative networks of funders advance ideas and practices for strengthening public education. (Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)
