for general operating support
The Marsh supports professional and amateur solo performance artists to develop and perform new works. Each year it presents 700 performances at its theaters in San Francisco and Berkeley, and offers year-round classes, an artist-in-residency program, and a theater arts program for children and youth for more than 42,000 people. Renewed funding for The Marsh would support its goals of increasing contributed income and developing its business model to better support up-and-coming performers who do not garner the level of income that better known solo performers can command.
