Overview
The Institute for National Security Studies is Israel’s premier think tank working on nonproliferation. This grant would continue its project to develop a nucleus of experts in academia and government knowledgeable about weapons proliferation and arms control. The Institute plans to continue to encourage young researchers to develop experience in this domain by providing stipends and a supportive environment in which to study and to engage with officials. These experts will continue to provide reasoned voices on the tension between Israel and Iran and nuclear issues of global importance.

The Institute plans to encourage young researchers to develop expertise in this domain by providing stipends and a supportive environment in which to study, research, and engage with government officials. These experts and their research would provide reasoned voices concerning not only tensions between Israel and Iran but also nuclear issues of global importance. This grant would also allow the Institute, with the help of its young researchers, to train Israeli government officials and armed forces in arms control and nuclear security, trainings for which there is already a demand.

A renewal grant for the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv would further nurture the development of a cadre of Israeli experts on weapons proliferation and arms control. The project brings a group of younger policy professionals into close collaboration and mentorship with eminent figures in Israel’s national security community. The grant is an investment in a level-headed domestic Israeli discourse in the near term, as well as the longer-term emergence of a rising generation of knowledgeable analysts.
