Through the power of storytelling, Streetside Stories cultivates young people’s voices, develops their literacy and arts skills, and fosters educational equity. In-school and after-school programs reach more than 1,200 K-12 students per year at 20 Bay Area public schools, community centers, and low-income housing sites. Focusing on young people who attend struggling schools in under-resourced neighborhoods, 97 percent of the students that Streetside Stories reaches come from communities of color, and 88 percent come from low-income households.
