The State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education (SEADAE) is the member organization for employees of state departments of education who are responsible for arts education in their respective states. SEADAE is the fiscal sponsor for Quadrant Research, which is leading the Arts Education Data Project — a landmark research project that aims to provide a national baseline for arts education access in public schools. Quadrant Research’s user-friendly, online database shares California Department of Education data on arts education enrollment and course availability with advocates, parents, students, and teachers. This grant will support the ongoing maintenance of the web platform, data cleaning, and annual addition of new data.

This grant advances the Performing Arts Program’s Youth strategy through its Policy and Advocacy substrategy, by supporting the inclusion of data from the California Department of Education in its dashboard and analyses.

California is one of four pilot states. This grant will support the aggregation of data and development of a website illustrating arts education access in California public schools.
