Overview
Stanford University will lead an effort, with other universities and public school systems, to develop a series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that develop systemic capacity in districts and states to support teachers of English language learners by addressing the language demands inherent in the new state standards, particularly the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

SPARQ, a research center at Stanford University, seeks to reduce societal disparities and social divides using behavioral science. This grant will support research to examine racial diversity in the financial services industry. It is expected that this information will be used to develop strategies and practices to reduce biases that contribute to racial disparities.

It is also home to the Stanford Social Innovation Review, one of the social sector’s preeminent magazines and online journals. This grant provides general (program) support as part of the Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy.
