Grants to this Grantee
for support of the Valdry Center for Philanthropy
The Valdry Center for Philanthropy is an academically based research center at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, focused on philanthropic studies and nonprofit management. The center seeks to educate students, volunteers, and practitioners in the field of philanthropic studies, through exploring the economic, historical, and philosophical rationales for voluntary action in the local, national, and international arenas. The center plans to address issues that have historically been underexplored in and with minority communities in the U.S. and around the world. This center is the first philanthropy center at a historically Black college or university in America. This grant is for program support of the center as part of the Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy.
