Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Solar United Neighbors (SUN) is dedicated to representing solar owners and clean energy supporters, and mobilizing them to produce profound changes in the American energy system. SUN is building and strengthening the constituency for clean energy across demographic, racial, and political lines. SUNs model is proving that when people have and benefit from clean energy, they support local, state, national, and international policy that expands clean energy. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)
for the Florida Sun Program
Florida Solar United Neighborhoods (FL SUN) is a project of the Community Power Network. FL SUN helps neighborhoods across the state form solar co-ops, supports co-op homeowners in weighing in collectively on renewable energy policy debates, and assists with media and communications for broad public education about the economic and environmental benefits of solar. Because of current restrictive policies, Florida, the Sunshine State, only generates 0.1 percent of its electricity from solar sources even though the state is ranked third in the nation for solar rooftop potential.
