This grant will support Students Deserve, a fiscally sponsored project of Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs, to amplify youth and community voice as a vital part of the community schools transformation process in Los Angeles. Students Deserve is a grassroots, member-led organization made up of students, parents, and educators that empowers students to be active participants in the decision-making processes that accompany the transformation of neighborhood schools into culturally rich and affirming community schools models.

for Advocates for Community Alternative’s project on local government accountability in Ghana
The Advocates for Community Alternatives program partners with communities in West Africa to explore development alternatives that are not dependent on mining and carbon extraction. This grant will support the program’s ongoing work in the Donkro Nkwanta region of Ghana to refine their methodology for future community engagement throughout Ghana and West Africa.
