Overview
The Smart Freight Centre’s mission is to make the global freight and logistics sector more efficient, low carbon, and environmentally sustainable. Freight is a major contributor to climate change and reducing its emissions is now a focus of the Climate Initiative. The centre will implement a global strategy that includes working with private sector actors, shippers, and carriers in measuring emissions and provide trainings to accelerate the procurement of zero-emission freight vehicles. The Smart Freight Centre will continue to test its strategy in China and Europe with plans to expand to India and the U.S. (Substrategy: Transport Electrification)
