San Francisco Ballet Association is one of the United States’ oldest and largest professional ballet companies. The company presents more than 85 performances in the Bay Area, and maintains an impressive domestic and international touring schedule. It reaches more than 274,000 people each year through performances, tours, pre-professional ballet school, and education and outreach programs. Renewed funding will support the institution’s plans to increase the diversity of its staff, board, and company; pilot a series of projects that attract more audience members between the ages of 18 and 44; and continue to expand its Dance in Schools & Communities (DISC) education programs.

This grant to San Francisco Ballet Association advances the Program’s Continuity and Engagement strategy through the Traditional Works component.

The company presents more than 100 performances in the Bay Area, and maintains an impressive domestic and international touring schedule. It reaches more than 500,000 people each year through performances, tours, and education and outreach programs. The institution maintains a ballet school that provides pre-professional training for 400 highly qualified students from around the world. Renewed funding would support the organization’s goal to provide scholarship support for 50 percent of its students and continue to actively recruit a diverse student body.
