Overview
In 2016-2017, the federal government will distribute $100 million in grants to coalfield and coal plant communities transitioning away from dependence on coal through its Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER)+ Program. The Just Transition Fund makes grants to organizations in impacted communities to enable them to apply for this federal funding, as well as providing support for transition efforts directly.
