Overview
This grant seeks to facilitate the creation of Green Investment Banks (GIB) in key developing countries. Country GIB’s would be portals for climate aid and multi-lateral loans designed to assist countries with low cost finance aimed toward the emissions targets laid out in the Paris Climate treaty. The institute will provide technical assistance, match donor countries with climate mitigation investment opportunities developing countries and work with local partners to establish country specific GIB’s. The goal would be for four new GIB’s to be operating before 2020 and four more under development.
