Grants to this Grantee
for support of the Oakland green jobs project
The City of Oakland recently rejected a proposal to redevelop a former army base into a coal export terminal after an intensive campaign led by faith leaders, health experts, labor unions, and environmentalists. These groups are now shifting focus to developing good jobs in cleaner industries for residents of the city. The coalition will hold an Oakland Green Jobs Summit, create a task force to follow through on proposals stemming from the summit, and hold a Green Jobs Fair in 2017.
