Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Publish What You Pay is a global coalition of more than 700 civil society organizations advocating for greater transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. The coalition aims to ensure that payment and other disclosures made by extractive companies and governments through channels such as the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative lead to better and more accountable use of natural resource wealth. The coalition works to consolidate global disclosure norms and advocate for greater compliance at the country level, develop members’ capacity to use data in advocacy campaigns, and foster citizen participation in decisions about the allocation and use of extractive revenues.
for evidence on gender in the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative
This grant will allow Publish What You Pay (PWYP) to pilot a project to promote gender-responsive feedback mechanisms within the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) to improve policy outcomes for women in this sector. This grant will include desk research on women’s participation in the EITI platform, evidence of obstacles that women face in national level implementation, and access and use of EITI data. PWYP will conduct workshops with its members on uses of research, tools, and methodologies for understanding the impact of gender on the extractive industry.
