The Poverty & Race Research Action Council is a civil rights law and policy organization based in Washington, D.C. Started by the council, the National Coalition on School Diversity is a network of 50+ civil rights organizations, university-based research centers, and state and local coalitions working to support government policies and practices that promote school diversity and reduce racial and socioeconomic isolation in our nation’s public schools. It promotes research-based advocacy strategies to address structural inequality and disrupt the systems that disadvantage low-income people of color. This grant will support the National Coalition on School Diversity, which was started by the Council, to support federal, state, and local efforts to increase racial and economic integration in K-12 education.
