Overview
The Self-Care Trailblazer Group will be a short-term catalyst to solidify the growing field of user-controlled sexual and reproductive health. Co-funded with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, this project aims to bring together self-care stakeholders and advocates to consolidate concepts and communicate around key events in 2019, build the evidence on self-care, and advocate for the adoption of forthcoming World Health Organization guidelines on user-controlled health care in Africa and India.

Grants to this Grantee
for support to expand access to medication abortion in Eastern Africa
This grant to Population Services International (PSI) will support the inclusion of medication abortion (MA) on the list of available reproductive health products marketed through a new regional social enterprise for Eastern Africa. PSI is developing a sustainable enterprise to market and distribute a selection of health products in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. This grant will support market introduction of medication abortion in that enterprise, including assessment of pharmacy and health care worker barriers to MA, information needs of users, and market dynamics associated with MA products that impact financial sustainability.
