Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra is dedicated to historically informed performance of the Baroque, Classical, and Early Romantic periods, as well as new music, using period instruments and vocal techniques that capture the style, spirit, and distinctive sound of that time. The Orchestra performs an annual subscription series in four venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, and is regularly heard on tour in the United States and internationally. The Orchestra has its own professional chorus, the Philharmonia Chorale, and welcomes talented guest artists from around the world. A grant to Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra will support further development of an alternative concert series, called SESSIONS; its commissioning program; and audience growth. The organization will also increase the capacities of its board, and increase contributed revenue.
