Overview
The Methane Partners Campaign is a coalition of groups working to reduce methane pollution from oil and gas operations. Methane is a potent global warming pollutant. Oil and gas production and distribution are responsible for a third of all U.S. methane emissions. The United States has pledged to reduce methane emissions 40-45 percent by 2025. The Methane Partners Campaign supports federal and state policies to achieve that goal.

Grants to this Grantee
for the Climate Advocacy Lab
The Climate Advocacy Lab is a pioneer in “evidence-based advocacy,” serving as a hub for coordination, collaboration, and best practices on translating public support for climate change into action, including through digital training services and communications and the use of psychology, sociology, and other social sciences to change motivations and attitudes. While the lab shares best practices in a number of different areas of advocacy, it excels in the climate communications space. The lab also serves as an important hub for collaboration between different organizations and communications shops. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)
for the Climate Action Campaign
The EPA is in the midst of a critical Clean Air Act rule-making cycle that will substantially reduce global warming and other pollutants. Requirements for more fuel-efficient cars and less mercury from power plant smokestacks were adopted in 2011. The first-ever rule to limit global warming emissions from new power plants was introduced in 2012 and new rules to regulate CO2 in existing power plants are expected in 2013. Because the rules are driving a shift away from coal and toward a clean-energy economy in the United States, it’s critical that health, environmental, and other advocates rally to defend these rules from the intense attack they are under from the industries affected by the rules. This grant would fund a coalition of national and state groups to conduct strategic, coordinated communications and organize activities to defend existing rules and create a policy environment in which the EPA can continue creating new rules.
for the Next 100 Coalition
The Next 100 Coalition, a project of the Partnership Project, develops conservation strategies and solutions that center Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. The coalition serves as a convener of organizations and builds authentic relationships among people of color in the conservation field, working toward an inclusive vision for conservation and stewardship in America. (Substrategies: Advance Conservation Protections and Build the Conditions for Enduring Conservation)
