Overview
Outer Coast is a new postsecondary institution in Sitka, Alaska. Outer Coast offers a transformative, immersive education based on the pillars of academics, service and labor, and self-governance for students from across Alaska and around the world — and is on the path to becoming a two-year liberal arts college. Ultimately, Outer Coast hopes to lead a broader movement to shift the field of higher education toward increased equity and efficacy, acting as a template for the sort of postsecondary institution that can be established in any under-resourced community to serve students of all backgrounds. This grant provides general operating support to Outer Coast.
