Overview
For the past six years the Teacher Education in Sub Saharan Africa (TESSA) project has grown from a seed of an idea to an internationally-recognized and acclaimed model of collaborative OER development and implementation. Its attempts to address the need for more qualified teachers in Sub Saharan Africa have been met with great interest, and countries beyond the original 13-member consortium have expressed interest in piloting TESSA or adopting TESSA where there are few teacher training programs or none. This evaluation project will explore the strengths and opportunities for TESSA program development, and will provide information about the impact of TESSA on teacher training practices in a select group of countries.

for the Global OER Graduate Network
The Open University’s Global OER Graduate Network, or GO-GN, is an international network that uses seminars and online community building to connect scholars and Ph.D. students who are studying issues related to open education. The network will continue to enhance the diversity of its membership, synthesize important research findings, and sustain a community of practice. A robust research infrastructure and increased use of high-impact studies will support the effective implementation of open educational resources and practices. (Substrategy: Field Building)
