Overview
CCCOER, a division of the global Open Education Consortium, works with its members to advance open education to enhance teaching and learning, specifically reducing barriers for lower-income and underrepresented college students. As the open education field goes mainstream and statewide memberships grow significantly, CCCOER needs to bring together its leadership network to share strategies and collaborate across institutional and state boundaries. Collaborations to scale regional impact of open education initiatives include policies for ethical stewardship of resources and data, zero-textbook-cost degree pathways, effectiveness research, and sustainability models.

for supporting culturally responsive instructional reform in California Community Colleges
Open Education Global leads a consortium of North American community colleges called CCCOER in advancing open education to ensure equitable, inclusive, and meaningful learning experiences. With College of the Canyons, CCCOER will undertake a two-year program to support California Community Colleges in culturally responsive teaching practices through the use of OER and open pedagogy. Participating faculty will engage in a two-semester online program to learn and implement best practices for using open pedagogy to achieve inclusive classroom experiences. Faculty, students, and administrators will participate in the evaluation of the program impact. (Substrategy: Sustainable Systems)
