Overview
The OpenCourseWare Consortium is a worldwide collaboration of more than 200 higher education institutions and associated organizations that use a shared model to create a broad and deep body of open educational content. This proposed project grant would support a new effort to demonstrate the power of open licensing in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The Consortium would work with its members to develop a number of MOOCs using all openly licensed resources for a fraction of the cost of current MOOCs. This would be a pilot demonstration of the way in which open licensing enables more and better collaboration while reducing costs.
