for strategic planning
Old First Concerts presents fine chamber music at modest prices, showcasing accomplished, professional emerging and mid-career artists in an acoustically superb setting and providing them with the opportunity to create their own performance repertoire. For both new and established performers, Old First is a welcome alternative to costly and time consuming self-produced concerts. For concertgoers, the organization provides musical variety and quality at a relatively risk-free ticket cost. Recent years have seen a growing programmatic diversity, including contemporary, jazz and world music. Its year-round calendar of over sixty concerts, performed by 300 artists, reaches more than 5,000 audience members annually in performance at Old First Church in San Francisco. Support for a strategic planning process, the first since 2004, will enable the entire staff and board to take a step back and review what is working for the organization, and what needs to be updated to reflect the needs and wishes of audiences and artists.
