Overview
Northern California Land Trust is a community land trust that creates and stewards permanently affordable homes and community facilities for low- and very-low-income households. The organization provides affordable apartments, condos, and homes; leases to nonprofit organizations; and stewards cooperatives and co-housing communities in Berkeley, Oakland, and Palo Alto. In addition, it provides services and advocacy to expand the community land trust movement, including incubation of new community land trusts and leadership development for residents. This grant will support the development of the Artist Space Trust, to help ensure local artists have control and access to safe, affordable spaces to live, create, and share their work. Support for the Artist Space Trust advances the Performing Arts Program’s overall strategic framework.
