Overview
The North Bay Organizing Project is a multi-issue organization composed of over 22 faith, environmental, labor, student, and community-based organizations in Sonoma County, California. Through leadership programs and local organizing, the project works toward social, economic, racial, and environmental justice. Since its creation in 2011, it has trained over 5,000 leaders, and supported changes in its communities including reduced deportations, reduced school suspensions and expulsions, improved access to public transportation for students, increased rights for tenants, and disaster relief for impacted community members. Its approach to community organizing integrates arts and culture components across program areas to support engagement, belonging, healing, and building community voice. Support for the North Bay Organizing Project advances the Performing Arts Program’s overall strategic framework.
